If you are new to C++, maybe even to programming as such, I recommend "C++ Without Fear" by Brian Overland.

The only book I know that will introduce you to the latest version of Qt Creator is "Application Development with Qt Creator" by Ray Rischpater. This small book is surprisingly packed with information, both for new and experienced Qt Creator users.

You definitely need a good R textbook. I recommend "R for Everyone" by Jared Lander.
